February outfit faves!

Hey!

I thought I would give you guys a similar style post to the "favourite products of the month" post" as I am loving quite a few items of clothing at the minute. I also thought it would be a change from the usual. Next month I will be going back to makeup products. I will switch between fashion and clothing every other month to change it up and to keep things new. Also, I don't have enough time to find enough products I love to write a blog post about them.

My first outfit fave is my Jack Wills bag. This is the perfect bag for a day out to fit anything in. I also love the look of it! However, it doesn't have any pockets so its quite hard  to find anything in a rush like if your phone is ringing.

My next fave is my bracelet from new look. Its very simple and it goes with everything! I love how it has an extra bit where it comes down with all the charms.

Another favourite is something every girl will probably have in their wardrobe, leggings. They are so simple and go with literally everything! They are also so comfy! They are also really cheap and you can get them everywhere!

My next favourite is also something a lot of girls, if not every girl has. Ripped jeans. I have two pairs myself but about a week and a half ago I bought these ones in New Look and I LOVE them! I find it hard to buy jeans because of my height. (In most shops I come under the petite section and they just don't have the same lines in that section!) But these ones fit perfectly. I've never found a pair of jeans that have it me quite so well. They are also soooo comfy! As well as that New Look have a 20% jeans sale at the moment so go and grab a pair!!!

Next is another item from New Look. Its one of my favourite tops at the moment. I really love the colour and I especially love the sleeves. I haven't seen them before and I really love them. Its also really comfortable!

My final fashion fave for now is my GAP hoodie. I love this so much and I wear it with everything! Its so simple and cosy!

So, that's it for this month! Sorry that the pictures have been placed a bit dogdy I'm having trouble positioning them. If you liked this post and want to see more of them let me know in the comments or on twitter with @AbbeytheJCat or @Abbey_Mariexx. Thanks for reading!

The BRITs red carpet verdict!

Hey!

Last night was once again the BRIT awards and as a fashion lover I had my eyes in the red carpet and thought I would give you my verdict. Overall, I was quite unimpressed to be honest. Some of the outfits were pretty underwhelming, with some of them belonging in last decade or even in the bin! However, there were some nice outfits that didn't hurt the eyes.

First of all, Cheryl Fernandez Versini. Generally, I love the clothes she wears and think she has great style. However, last night she got it terribly wrong! Her dress looked like it had just jumped out of the early 2000s! It looks more like something she would of weared in her early days of the Spice Girls. Maybe with Gerri Halliwell there though, she wanted a throwback?

Next was Jess Glynne. What was she thinking! She honestly looked like a leprechaun on steroids with a carrot hat! That hair was definitely too big for some peoples liking. And it weren't just mine! She was a mess!

Adele's first outfit was ok. I'm generally not a big fan of her style but this outfit wasn't too bad for her. Its typical Adele. However, I'm not a fan of the extra fabric, and there was a lot of it!

Next was Laura Whitmore. Even though she wasn't part of the main awards ceremony I have to say that I loved her outfit! It was one of the best on the red carpet. The only part I didn't like was all the feathers at the bottom, she's not a chicken. I have to give it to her though, she must have been freezing!

Next was everyone's favourite girl group, Little Mix! These girls always look amazing and they didn't let us down last night with their red carpet outfits! They all look really pretty. However, I don't think Perrie's trousers were too appropriate. They look more like jeans. However, I love these girls and I love their style. They definitely lived up to expectations in my opinion last night!

So, that's it for tonight! Thanks for reading and let me know if you enjoyed this post by tweeting me at @AbbeytheJCat or @Abbey_Mariexx or even by the comments below. Also let me know if you want any other posts in the future.

Reveiw: How to be single!

Hey again!

On Sunday I was lucky enough to go to the preview of the new movie "How to be single" featuring Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson. As it was so good I thought I wold give you lot a little review of it.

So, the film starts with Dakota Johnsons character, Alice, taking a break from her relationship. She then starts a new job at a law firm and meets Rebel Wilsons character, Robin. After finding out that she is single Robin takes Alice out for the night and teaches her how to live the single life.

This movie is definitely worth seeing. There are so many funny scenes, all including the hilarious Rebel Wilson, and is definitely worth every penny you pay for your ticket! So grab all your friends for a hilarious day out at the cinema. This is one movie you will want to see again!

Enjoy the movie!

My favourite eyeshadow palettes

Hiya!
So, this week I thought I would tell you about a few of my favourite eye shadow palettes. I have TONS  of eye shadow and its a really good way of putting some bright colour into your look. Most of these are palettes from UK drugstores since I am on a limited student budget but I hope you like these too because they are AMAZING!

My first favourite is the Revlon colourstay palette in moonlit palette. I love the shades and can do a simple eye look with just two of the colours or go for three with the lighter colour. To line your eye you can use the darkest colour and blend it in. It lasts all day as really well without having to use primer which is sometimes hard to find with drugstore shadows.

Another favourite of mine is by Maybelline and its the nudes palette. Although it doesn't last as long as the Revlon palette it has a lot more colours so therefore more combinations, duos, trios and quads. As well as not lasting as long I also find that I don't get the same coverage or colour as I do with the Revlon colours, the brush doesn't pick as much colour. I do realise that the Revlon colourstay palettes do promise 16 hour stay and promise a lot more than the nudes palette does but I really expect more from a brand like Maybelline, especially since I paid £9.99 for it. However I love my rocket lash waterproof mascara and really is waterproof and worth every penny you spend on it!

My next favourite(s) isn't exactly a palette but two separate colours. However I do use them together and they are from the same line. These are from Body Shop (oh how upmarket of me!) and are specifically from the colour crush line. The two colours are called melt my heart and oh honey. Personally I think these two colours work really nicely together and Are a nice springtime eyeshadow look. They are good coverage as well and last well.

My cheapest  and last favourite is the Little Mix all about the eyes palette (you may be noticing a pattern of brown shades/palettes by now, sorry, the majority of my eyeshadow colours are brown tones I should try more!) This palette is SO CHEAP yet SO GOOD! The colours last really well and look really good! There is also a good mix of colours as well. Go on Little Mix!

That's all for now guys! Hope you have enjoyed this post and make sure you give me feedback via twitter or in the comments below on what you like and want to see more of!

Bye!

Exam revision tips!

Hiya again!

Since it is coming to the end of half term here in the UK and in schools here you usually have end of half term exams around this time so I thought I would give everyone a few tips on how to revise well. Hopefully you all find these useful and will use them in the future with end of term exams or even the big end of year exams.

My first tip is that you shouldn't revise on subject for too long. I would say no longer than 30 mins max. Otherwise you'll lose concentration, especially if your someone like me who gets very easily distracted. (earlier I was doing an impression of a frog while I was revising. weird, crazy, I know! Don't judge me!) Also you can lose track of time and if you have lots of subjects to revise for it isn't a good idea!

Secondly, while also linking to the first point, set yourself a timer for each revision session. Say if your going to revise chemistry for 20 mins, set a timer for 20 mins. I find this much more helpful as I can actually get some revision done. Whereas, if I don't have a timer I find myself constantly looking at the clock and I don't actually do much revision.

Also, make sure you find out which type of learner you are. This will really help as you can revise in ways that will suit your style of learning. Personally, I'm kinaesthetic, so I learn by doing things. To help me revise I tend to write notes on the things I am studying. I have been doing this a lot in Chemistry and I've been getting A's all year so far!

As well as that always switch your devices off and put them away before you start. They are a big distraction. Whenever my phone is near me when I am revising I always end up on it! So, before you start just turn it off and put it away! You'll see the benefits when you get your grade back for sure!

If you find revising really hard treats are a good way of rewarding yourself. Whether its a chocolate bar or a youtube binge. (a way of procrastination I find if I am doing homework on my laptop. Oh how the internet can be so distracting!) Rewarding yourself is a good way to remind yourself that life isn't all about exams. (even though is does seem like it at my school!)

Also, if you find it hard to revise in a lot of noise or in a place where there is a lot of distractions put yourself in a quieter room or go somewhere completely different like Starbucks to revise. I know this might sound stupid but it can really help!

Hopefully you have found this helpful and let me know if any of these tips have helped you prepare for exams!! If you have any others that I haven't mentioned put them in the comments or tweet me at @Abbey_Mariexx or @AbbeytheJCat. Thanks for reading!

I'm proud of you

Hiya!

This was an unplanned post to say the least! But a very important one. One of the most important ones I have written to date. There is a serious message I want to put out with this. Never be afraid to be yourself and be proud of it. We are all individuals and should never be afraid to be different. Never be nervous to admit who you really are there will always be people who will accept you, no matter what.

I am saying this because today, Union J member and I'm a celeb runner up George Shelley released a YouTube video revealing his true feelings and sexuality by saying that he has had girlfriends and boyfriends. He has decided not to label himself as he thinks this is old fashioned. Although many people have labelled him as bisexual I am not, sticking to what he said and his wishes.

Hearing him say that he has been nervous to admit who he really is makes my heart break. No one should have to hide who they really are! Just because George is in a boy band doesn't mean he can't be himself! Nowadays people are so accepting and it shouldn't be any other way! George shouldn't even have to explain himself! If he wants to date a guy he can. The ones that mind are the ones that have the issues and insecurities. They don't matter!

George, I am so proud of you! I will always be a fan no matter what. It doesn't matter what your sexuality is or who you love and it shouldn't. I'm am just so thankful we are in a world where people are so accepting and understanding. Gay marriage is now legal in so many places all over the world and I couldn't be prouder to be growing up in this age and watch it all happen.

Again, I'm very very proud George. Beyond words. I will always love you and be a fan no matter what!
